In my teenage and early adult years I travelled the world representing Ireland at International level in the sport of Racewalking. I also managed leisure centres for several years before falling ill with acute anxiety and depression. My rehabilitation journey led me to suicide prevention , social care work and now childhood trauma research.
In 2020 I graduated with a 1:1 hons degree in Social Care Work from Limerick Institute of Technology after returning as a mature student. My time spent in academia has made me hungry to learn more and I am now a masters postgraduate researcher.
